Kat Graham, co-owner of Barbee Cookies, and former teacher of 22 years is offering a 10% Discount to Oklahoma Teachers for the month of April.
Barbee Cookies has announced that the company will be giving out a 10% discount on any order during the month of April in a show of appreciation for Oklahoma teachers. This event is coinciding with the teachers' statewide "walkout" to protest the unfair wages that they receive as well as teacher appreciation month. The average teacher in the state earns inadequate wages making it among one of the lowest in the country.
Ms. Graham's support is not only for the teachers but also for the students, who she believes deserve a bright educational future. Ms. Graham is firm in her support of both the teachers and providing the students of Oklahoma a good education.
“I believe teachers should stand up for their rights as they are sewing into the lives of our future. Teachers in Oklahoma are being paid so little that it makes me think, maybe our State Legislature isn’t investing in our future.”
The 10% discount will be given to all teachers that stop by the South Tulsa bakery, located at 8393 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK 74133 OR our Downtown Tulsa location inside the Atlas Life Building at 415 South Boston Avenue. They will simply show their school ID upon checking out to receive their discount. Kat Graham is a strong supporter of Oklahoma teachers for the important work that they do and is pleased to offer this gesture of support.
Ms. Graham, who now helms Barbee Cookies as co-owner and founder, was once a teacher herself. Her teaching career spanned 22 years, and this experience has deepened her support of the current teachers in Oklahoma. Education is an important foundation of the communities of Oklahoma and Barbee Cookies is proud to offer this tasty show of support!
